The register now holds 1,374 verified corporate retreat venues — each one machine-checked against its own website, photo-verified, and headed for a human read before launch. That number is smaller than it was two weeks ago, and that’s the most important thing on this page.
Smaller? On purpose. This month the register cut hundreds of listings that a typical directory would have happily kept: budget hotel chains dressed up as “retreat centers,” municipal expo halls, dead websites — and a few genuine absurdities that messy public data tried to sneak past us, including a luxury fashion retailer and an online dictionary. A directory that counts junk isn’t bigger. It’s just heavier.

A number planners will appreciate
91% of venues in the register have a direct phone number attached — 1,247 of 1,374. That sounds boring until you’ve spent an afternoon hunting a sales-office number through a resort’s chatbot. Reachability is part of verification here: a venue you can’t contact isn’t much of a venue.
What the machine is doing right now
- Scouting the thin states. Every state has a coverage target sized to its market. The ones below target are being swept town by town — not just the famous destinations, but the lake regions and small mountain towns where your dates aren’t fought over.
- Working the brand families. Big hospitality brands run many properties on one website, which quietly hides all but one of them from most catalogs. The register now tracks each property individually — more on that fix in an upcoming post.
- Verifying photos, nonstop. Every photo set is machine-checked against the venue it claims to show before launch. No borrowed pictures.
The full directory launches in 2026. Until then, this page’s numbers keep moving — and we’ll keep publishing them, cuts included.
